Christmas travels

We departed Darwin on the red eye bound for Melbourne. Timing was impeccable managed to coincide with the Chirnside Street party at Dean & Sal’s place. It was good to visit the old hood and catch up with the old Kingsville friends.

After a great evening of Christmas cheer, securing our wedding albums and sending more personal items to QLD to avoid excess luggage penalties with Tiger we boarded a plane bound for the Gold Coast to visit Cindy’s sister Cathy and her family for an early Christmas and last minute shopping. We were very spoilt on the Christmas present front and it was very enjoyable catching up with all the kiddies.

Arrived at Wooli where it rained same as it did in QLD for the next 5 days…
It was a great Christmas spending time with Nick, Mum and Dad at the Shack.
Lotsa laughs, fishing, worming, mud crabbing along with great food and wine.  Christmas seafood lunch comprising of local oysters, mud crab and freshly flown in NT Barra caught by Tom also delicious Turkey cooked by Mum in Nick’s new high speed oven.

Like most people sat down to watch the boxing day test and as usual the Aussies under-performed so decided to go fishing instead.

From here we headed for Brisbane to catch up with Charlie and Amy for belated engagement celebrations and another feed of good quality NT Barra caught by Tom. Next morning dusty as usual we boarded a plane back to Darwin just in time to bust Trev out of lock up, thanks to all those that helped.
