Nearly 10 years on, 2 kids later and a lot of planning, waiting, re-planning it has finally happened. With special permission from Qld Health we have started our trip as a family on the AAA (Around Australia Adventure). Plan is to get to Benyule and help out for a while before seeing where things take us.
Next challenge was to get out of Victoria as fast as possible avoiding all the dirty hot spots. We headed out through the picturesque Yarra Valley, very green and a vast contrast of the last time we went through there. With the Vic/NSW border closing at midnight we made it with a bit to spare, even though the passengers were fast asleep at the time.
After a quick stop in Wagga Wagga we headed to our place of rest, the home of the famous Paleface Adios. A great sunset on the way
and as usual we set up in the dark, really need to work on this as its not something that we want to do every time.
Great showgrounds with good facilities. Waking up to the sound of trotters everywhere, managed to catch a bit of track work and hard to tell the winner, very close.
Kids are having a great time riding bikes and collecting rocks.
Today we are off to the Temora Aviation Museum so stayed tuned.
Updates:
Emi has decided that for maths homework she would keep a count of emus we see. Going forward this will be known as EEC (Emi's Emu Count). This stands at a solid 2, spotted in the Yarra Valley, they must have been lost
Great job getting across the border guys!
